3D Visualization and Flyovers

Special Projects is developing 3D flyovers of bottom terrain to support the Marine Sanctuaries Systems and the Ocean Exploration Initiative. These flyovers are built using basic off the shelf desktop GIS and multimedia software. They are currently being designed for internet streaming, but could be used in full-screen mode for demos and kiosks. Areas with high resolution bottom imagery (e.g., multibeam) produce the most dramatic movies.
